This is a short list of business case examples for our Spotnet service.

Hotel

Family owned Resort and Hotel "De Eese", located near Steenwijk in the northern parts of the Netherlands, chose SpotNet Pro for offering public wireless internet to its guests. The SpotNet Pro system serves more than 100 hotel rooms using a network of ten wireless access points and one SpotNet Pro Gateway. Customers can use credit card, Paypal or vouchers to access the internet for EUR 5 for every 24 hours.

Lunchroom

Peter Vaassen owns a lunchroom and restaurant in Cape Town. As an additional service to his business customers, Peter decided to offer free wireless internet access and signed up with SpotNet Sponsored. Now more customers start bringing laptops and stay longer after lunchtime. Peter has seen increase in drink consumption and higher revenues than previous months. Peter's hotspot interrupts the customer's wireless connection with a "coffee break" and "avoid rsi, take a short break" message every half an hour.

Marina

The Yacht Marina in Ermioni offers visiting ships free wireless internet. Local shops and restaurants advertise on the hotspot and pay the marina a monthly fee of about EUR 20 per ad. This way the marina harbour offers a free public wireless internet service to the visiting ships while covering the expenses from ad revenues.

Gas station

Jan Oosterhout runs a gas station on the A7 in The Netherlands. Using SpotNet Sponsored, he offers free public wireless internet to his customers, interrupted with commercial message offering coffee and sandwiches and showing latest prices on oil products. By not charging for internet access, Oosterhout attracts more people to his gas station. "It's quite simple. When you're on the road and you can choose between a gas station that offers free wireless internet and one that charges you a few euro's per hour, the choice is quite easy", he says.
